Description | The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an oral interview with Mary Renkenberger. Renkenberger was born in Goshen, Indiana on 26 January 1920. After graduation from high school she completed nurses� training in September, 1941. She entered the Navy on 27 April 1943 and completed her basic training at Norfolk Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia. As an ensign in the Navy Nurse Corps, she was assigned duty as charge nurse over Navy corpsmen. She received a medical discharge on 25 February 1944. |
